Nuggets of wisdom
I posted earlier this week about the responsibility we all have to take care each day and to be intentional with our time… because even the smallest actions today can create big changes in the future. Today, I want to take a moment to discuss one way Chick-fil-A hopes to make a big difference in the lives of American children.
According to the Let’s Move initiative, one-in-three American children is considered overweight or obese, and they are consuming 31 percent more calories and 56 percent more fat than their peers did 40 years ago! As restaurateurs, we know that we have a responsibility to help others live well and make smart decisions about what they put in their bodies. Earlier this week, Chick-fil-A took another step to address the issue of childhood obesity by introducing one of the nation’s most nutritious kid’s meals.
We are not the only chain-restaurant to update its menu and provide healthier options for kids, but by introducing Grilled Nuggets to our kid’s meals, we are the first national fast-food chain to offer a grilled entrée as part of a children’s menu. We’re also enhancing our side choices by adding applesauce, one percent milk, 100 percent apple juice, our signature freshly squeezed lemonade and even bottled water as drink choices. For more information and nutritional information, visit Chick-fil-A.com or ask your local Chick-fil-A restaurant.
At Chick-fil-A, our Corporate Purpose calls for us to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us, and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A, but that doesn’t just mean providing great food and great service in a clean, wholesome environment. It also means staying true to who we are and never forgetting how we got here. I talked about that with Neil Cavuto yesterday on FOX News. You can watch that interview here:
