RE: Marriage
This past Sunday, Cindy and I celebrated 35 wonderful years together. Sure, there have been difficult times throughout our marriage, but I can say without reservation that I can't think of anything I'd change.
I get asked all the time about the "secret" to a happy marriage, and my immediate response is to keep God the center of your relationship. There is no stronger bond than a personal relationship with Christ and growing in that relationship alongside the one you love.
Next, I usually talk about having an open line of communication, praying together, continuing to court one another throughout your marriage and other things along those lines. All of these are important and deserve more attention than a single blog post can accomplish, so over the next few weeks, I will be addressing a few of the things I have found to be true "regarding marriage." I'll even share parts of my own story in hopes that you might be encouraged and led to think more deeply about your own relationships.
I hope you will join me over the coming weeks as we discuss things like: marriage maintenance, finding marriage buddies, fighting fair, dating your spouse… and a few other topics I think you’ll enjoy.
If there's something specific you'd like to cover in this series, be sure to leave your comments below and I'll try to address those topics as well! I look forward to the conversations we will start together, and I pray that God will bless you and your relationships along the way.
Thanks for reading,
Bubba
